Pour Into Scholars

For the first in the family to walk this road.

Scholarships and real support for first-generation college students, so they can enroll, stay, and finish strong.

Why we pour here

Getting in is only the first step.

First-generation students are often figuring out college on their own: financial aid forms, registration, housing, and what to do when money runs short mid-semester. Many don't leave because they can't do the work. They leave because nobody filled the gaps.

Pour Into Scholars is built to fill those gaps. Funding helps, but a check alone isn't enough. We stay with our scholars from the first semester to graduation day.

  • Renewable scholarshipsPaid directly to the school and renewable each year a scholar stays in good standing.
  • Book and essentials stipendsHelp with the costs tuition doesn't cover: books, supplies, and the everyday things that add up.
  • A mentor in your cornerEvery scholar is matched with a mentor, ideally someone who was a first-gen student too.
  • Check-ins every semesterWe check in every semester, not just when the award is made, so small problems get handled before they grow.
  • A community of scholarsConnection to other Pour Into Scholars who understand the journey.

Questions

Good to know

Who counts as a first-generation college student?

Generally, a student whose parents or guardians did not complete a four-year college degree. The full definition will be included with the application.

When can I apply?

We are planning our first awards for the 2027–28 school year. Application dates, eligibility details, and award amounts will be posted here when the application opens.

Who decides who gets a scholarship?

A selection committee reviews applications using written, objective criteria that will be published with the application. Committee members cannot be related to applicants.

Why is the money paid to the school?

Paying the school directly keeps the scholarship focused on education costs and makes the process simple for students and families.

Can I keep the scholarship after my first year?

Yes. Scholarships are designed to renew each year as long as the scholar stays enrolled, in good standing, and connected through semester check-ins.
